What’s new

Pataglow updates

A simple record of meaningful improvements to product discovery, brand submissions and the overall experience.

Latest

Explore without restarting your concern journey

  • Explore now puts search, results and practical filters first, without the Popular searches section or repeated catalogue headings.
  • Filters from a concern page open automatically on phones with your selections retained. On larger screens, the filter sidebar is brought into view.
  • Edit your concerns in the same panel, then refine by price, product type, brand, seller county or ingredient. Clear refinements keeps your concerns; Browse all products starts a new search.
  • Changes on phones apply together with Show products. Cancel or close keeps your previous selections, and browser Back and Forward restore applied filters.

Add concerns without starting again

  • Add another concern within Skin, Body or Hair & scalp while keeping your original browsing journey. Products matching any selected concern appear, with stronger overlap shown first.
  • A compact toolbar and selected-concern row keep products in view, with a clearer Filters button that carries your selections into Explore.
  • The concern picker opens without the keyboard, gives more space to choices and applies changes together with Show products. Closing it discards unapplied changes.
  • Your selections stay in the page link and work with reload, sharing and browser Back and Forward. More products load without restarting your search.

Calmer product and brand pages

  • Product and brand profiles use smaller, more balanced headings. Long product introductions have Read more and Read less on phones, while short descriptions remain visible.
  • Brand profiles have a simpler Products section and cleaner logo presentation without the extra white framing.
  • Product cards show at most three concerns without expansion controls. Concern-filtered results show only matching selections; the full list remains on the product page.
  • Saved cards have tighter spacing and compact concern labels, removing the large gap between the product type and concerns.
  • Catalogue search metadata and crawler access have been refined to help search engines understand public product pages. Search rankings and refresh timing remain controlled by search engines.

Your PataGlow and private preferences

  • New shopper accounts can optionally choose the product areas, PataGlow Needs and Kenyan county that matter to them in a short three-step setup.
  • Existing shoppers and brand owners can start or continue setup from Your PataGlow without being interrupted while browsing.
  • Preferences remain private, can be edited at any time and do not yet change rankings or recommendations.
  • Your PataGlow now brings preferences, Saved products, Glowboards and the optional brand workspace into one calmer account page.
  • A new privacy page explains authentication, private preferences, saved products, Glowboards and aggregate product analytics in plain language.

Smaller details with clearer meaning

  • The PataGlow green G monogram now represents the site in browser and search-engine icons, while the full wordmark remains on larger branded surfaces.
  • The product-card Glowboard action now uses a stack symbol that reads more naturally as a private collection instead of a spreadsheet or grid.
  • The homepage keeps concern-first language by presenting Thinning or shedding hair as a popular concern, while hair growth remains a cosmetic goal.
  • Shopper setup headings and focus states have been refined for clearer keyboard and mobile use.

Brand discovery ready for a larger catalogue

  • The homepage now shows a stable six-brand preview that encourages representation across Skin, Body and Hair & scalp without using popularity or recent edits as ranking signals.
  • The brand directory is alphabetical, searchable and filterable by product area, with a Load more action that keeps larger catalogues manageable.
  • Brand cards now share one compact design with the logo, official name, product areas, location and published product count.
  • Public brand profiles load directly and present clearer location, seller contact and product information without unsupported verification labels.
  • Only live brands with at least one published product appear in public brand discovery.

Mobile sheets that behave consistently

  • Glowboard, comparison and filter sheets now use the same familiar mobile interaction pattern.
  • Visible sheet handles can be tapped or swiped down to close instead of suggesting movement they do not support.
  • Closing a comparison tray or sheet no longer clears the shopper’s selected products.
  • Safe-area spacing, focus restoration and reduced-motion support keep these interactions comfortable across common phone sizes.

Comparison with less interruption

  • Selecting Compare now keeps the shopper on the current page and updates a compact tray instead of repeatedly opening the full comparison sheet.
  • Save keeps its heart and Compare keeps its arrows when selected, so the two actions remain easy to distinguish.
  • The comparison sheet shows every selected product with its image, name and an individual remove action, plus a clear two- or three-product action.
  • Find matching products now respects the originating concern and product area, preventing broad-category products from appearing without the exact concern match.
  • The comparison page has cleaner section styling and moves to the table when a second product makes the comparison ready.

Easier Instagram details for brands

  • Brand submission now accepts an Instagram username, @handle or profile link in one field.
  • Valid entries are completed into a clean profile address and can be opened for confirmation before submission.
  • Links to posts, reels, stories and other non-profile destinations are rejected with a specific explanation.
  • Draft restoration, administrator-assisted submissions and existing public Instagram buttons remain compatible with the improved field.

Explore that is ready to grow

  • Explore now searches the live catalogue on the server instead of downloading every product into the browser, keeping discovery responsive as more brands join.
  • One clear filter system now covers product area, Need, product type, price, brand, ingredient and the county where the seller is based.
  • Phone filters use a focused bottom sheet with an Apply action, while larger screens keep the same controls beside the results.
  • Product results load in manageable batches, preserve applied filters in the link and keep Save and Compare available on every card.
  • PataGlow administrators can now see common no-result searches and listings that need their information reconfirmed, without recording a shopper’s identity.

Hands-on submission help for brands

  • When a brand gets stuck, an authorised PataGlow administrator can now help complete its saved catalogue draft without signing in as the brand.
  • The brand’s draft becomes temporarily read-only while support is editing so newer work cannot be overwritten.
  • Assisted drafts still enter the normal review queue and never publish automatically.
  • Every support action is attributed in the administrator history, and the brand receives an email after PataGlow submits on its behalf.

Multiple sizes for one product

  • Brands can now list up to ten size and price options under one product instead of creating duplicate product listings.
  • Product cards show the lowest listed price and the number of available sizes, making options easier to understand while browsing.
  • Product pages now let shoppers choose a size before opening the relevant buying link or WhatsApp enquiry.
  • Comparisons remember the exact size selected and use structured amounts to calculate fairer like-for-like unit prices.
  • Existing single-size products continue to work normally, while search and Google product information can now understand every listed size.

A smoother start for brands

  • Brand sign-up and sign-in now have separate, clearer paths for new and returning brands.
  • A brand account is created as soon as Google sign-up is completed, so Pataglow can welcome the brand and notify the administrator before a product is submitted.
  • Catalogue setup is now divided into four manageable tasks covering brand basics, buying information, products and final review.
  • Incomplete setup is saved privately to the cloud, including draft images, so a brand can safely leave and continue later from another session.
  • Returning brands are directed to their dashboard, where they can resume a draft, follow a submission or manage a live catalogue.

Cleaner catalogue links and search summaries

  • Approved brands now use readable public links based on their names instead of submission identifiers.
  • Existing identifier-based links redirect to the correct public page so previously shared links continue to work.
  • Brand and product search descriptions now separate catalogue details more naturally and avoid words, prices and sizes running together.
  • Brand pages now use consistent WhatsApp and Instagram actions that match the product-page design system.

Glowboards for organising saved products

  • Signed-in shoppers can now organise saved products into private, named Glowboards while All saved remains the complete collection.
  • Glowboards use visual covers and product counts, and each board opens into the same familiar product-card grid used across Pataglow.
  • Products can belong to more than one Glowboard and can be added or removed without changing other boards.
  • The mobile board picker is now a focused bottom sheet with a clearer create-board flow and more reliable small-screen spacing.
  • Seller contact and comparison tools remain available in a lighter layout that keeps the saved products at the centre of the page.

A safer catalogue operations workspace

  • Administrators can now move between Overview, Reviews, Brands and Products in one protected workspace.
  • Brand and product lists can be searched and filtered, with clearer catalogue warnings and last-updated information.
  • Approval now requires checks for claims, images, ingredients, price and buying information.
  • Live brands and individual products can be unpublished and restored without permanent deletion, with a recorded reason and automatic brand email.
  • Administrator reviews, corrections and publication changes now appear in a catalogue activity history.

Clearer concerns, goals and search icons

  • Explore now separates the concern a shopper has from the cosmetic goal they want to achieve.
  • Skin, body, hair and scalp discovery options use a consistent icon system and common-language search terms.
  • Brand submissions can choose concerns, goals or both, while unavailable public filters stay out of the way until matching products are live.
  • Older hair-growth listings and links continue to work while hair growth is presented more accurately as a goal.

Faster, more forgiving Explore search

  • Explore now suggests matching products, brands, concerns, product types and ingredients as shoppers type.
  • Common alternatives and small spelling mistakes are handled without requiring shoppers to know exact catalogue wording.
  • Product suggestions include an image and open the product directly, while other suggestions apply the relevant Explore filter.
  • Recent searches stay on the shopper’s own device and can be cleared at any time.

Comparison without the obstruction

  • The permanent comparison tray has been replaced by a compact header control with a selected-product count.
  • Adding a product now gives brief confirmation and a direct comparison link once two products are ready.
  • Explore, concern and brand catalogue pages now use lighter, denser product cards so shoppers can scan two products at a time on most phones.
  • Product type, listed price and size are easier to compare while Save and Compare remain close to each image.
  • Catalogue cards now have smaller image controls, a clearer Save symbol, consistent benefit labels and a full-card link to product details.

Product pages built for clearer decisions

  • Product identity, price, size, save and comparison actions now appear together at the top of the page.
  • Product type, product area and listed concerns are easier to scan before reading the full details.
  • Where-to-buy information now has a dedicated section with clearer seller, delivery and pickup details.
  • Ingredients, directions and brand-provided statements are separated and labelled more clearly.

A clearer product comparison

  • Comparison facts are now grouped into overview, suitability, ingredients, routine and buying sections.
  • A neutral at-a-glance summary highlights listed price, comparable unit value and shared concerns without choosing a winner.
  • The comparison now follows the page scroll, uses full-width fact labels instead of a fixed sidebar, and repeats small product markers between sections.
  • A single choice now stays compact until a second product is added, and entirely empty comparison sections stay out of the way.
  • The product picker can now be searched by product, brand or product type.

A more guided Explore experience

  • Popular concern and budget shortcuts now give shoppers a simpler place to begin.
  • Search understands common alternatives such as scrub and exfoliator, then places closer matches first.
  • Concern and product-type filters can be combined, show live product counts and hide options that are not relevant to the current result.
  • Brand and ingredient filters are available under More filters, while every result can still be sorted, saved, compared and shared.

Brand logos and clearer social posts

  • Brands can add an optional logo during submission and replace or remove it when maintaining their listing.
  • Approved logos appear consistently in brand discovery cards and on the public brand page, with an initials fallback when no logo is supplied.
  • Brand and administrator social images now identify pataglow.com directly in the footer.

Submission and review notifications

  • Administrators can receive an email when a new brand submission or catalogue update is ready for review.
  • Brands receive an email when a submission is approved, rejected or returned for changes.
  • Notification links open the relevant protected review or brand-dashboard page.

Simpler product submissions and buying details

  • Product types are now organised by skin, hair or multi-use category, with exfoliators and scrubs included.
  • Product size is entered as a separate amount and unit, and Kenyan WhatsApp numbers use a clearer +254 field.
  • The changing stock-status question was removed; shoppers are reminded to confirm availability with the seller.
  • Delivery, pickup and stockist information is now easier to scan on product pages.

A clearer administrator dashboard

  • Administrators can see work awaiting review, approved-brand totals, live-product totals and catalogue-quality warnings at a glance.
  • The submission queue can now be searched and filtered by status and request type.
  • Administrators can now open a protected, read-only preview of an approved brand’s insights.
  • The preview uses the same figures the brand sees without signing in as the brand or changing its account.

Useful insights for brands

  • Approved brands can now see product views, saves, comparison selections and clicks to seller channels.
  • Product-level performance, concern referrals and listing-completeness guidance are available in the brand dashboard.
  • Insights are stored as daily interaction totals and do not claim orders, sales or unique visitors.

Brand maintenance dashboard

  • Approved brands can now manage products, prices, images and ordering information from one workspace.
  • Proposed changes wait for Pataglow review while the existing public listing remains live.
  • Approving an update automatically replaces the catalogue information without creating a duplicate brand.

Ready-to-share brand posts

  • Approved brands can create a Pataglow welcome image from their account.
  • Administrators can create matching announcement images when a brand has granted promotional permission.
  • Portrait and square PNG formats use the real approved product image and an editable headline.

Brand submissions are open

  • Brands can now create a Google brand account and submit products without an invitation link.
  • Every submission still goes through Pataglow review before it can appear publicly.
  • Brand drafts are now kept separate for each signed-in account on the device.

A clearer brand submission journey

  • Ordering and delivery information now has its own step.
  • Brands can provide product availability and direct order links.
  • Optional certification or testing documents can be shared privately for later review.

  • The Google sign-in page is shorter and easier to use on mobile.

Pataglow accounts

  • Google sign-in was added for shoppers and participating brands.
  • Saved products can follow signed-in shoppers across devices.
  • Brands can follow the status of their submissions.

Brand submissions and comparisons

  • Participating brands can submit product information and images for review.
  • Approved submissions can appear automatically in the public catalogue.
  • Product comparison was expanded with clearer side-by-side information.
